“I have been attending Kate’s rehabilitation gym, once a week, for three years. I have a progressive muscle wastage condition.

The exercise programme I follow has been designed to improve my overall state of health and to maintain and improve, the muscle strength in those muscles not affected by my condition.

Kate is very attentive to my requirements. She has taken the trouble to learn about my condition and, where I have difficulty carrying out certain exercises, has adapted the method to make performance easier. For example, the superman exercise, normally done on the floor, I carry out in a standing position.

Kate is keen that all exercises are carried by us adopting the correct positions. Words of encouragement and praise are regularly heard (from both Kate and fellow participants). Records of our achievements at each session are maintained and Kate is able to monitor progress. It is nice to see progression.I enjoy attending the gym, and certainly feel fitter. Although Kate may be looking after a group of eight, it seems as if I am getting a one to one session.”
